About
Sola Masaru is a Japanese-French artist, producer, and multi-instrumentalist known for his cinematic approach to sound and genre-fluid compositions. Classically trained in cello and deeply rooted in both Japanese and European musical traditions, Sola brings a rich, nuanced perspective to contemporary music.
A natural creative raised in Japan by a painter and a writer, Sola grew up surrounded by the arts. This early immersion instilled in him a fearless curiosity—one that rejects boundaries between medium or genre. Over time, he expanded his toolkit to include bass, guitar, keys, and vocals, weaving them into sonic landscapes that blur the lines between electronic, jazz, hip-hop, and avant-garde pop.
Influenced by visionaries like Ryuichi Sakamoto and Devonté Hynes, Sola doesn’t chase trends or fit into predefined categories. Instead, he focuses on emotion and atmosphere as the core of his work—inviting listeners into a space where feeling guides form, and every track tells a story that’s both intimate and expansive.
